Our client is a market leading dynamic International business. They are looking for Warehouse Team Leaders who will successfully deliver training and coaching to warehouse operatives either one to one or group inductions or through on the job coaching. The Warehouse Team Leaders will be provided with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Lesson Plans and Risk Assessments to deliver and utilise standardised operational training, giving the warehouse operatives the best possible support.

The Warehouse Team Leaders must have a pro-active approach in their own learning that when not conducting training and/or coaching will be performing the duties and responsibilities of the warehouse operatives to ensure their skills and knowledge are maintained to the required standard, and to support the operation as and when required.

The role would suit an experienced Warehouse Team Leaders, Warehouse Instructor, Senior Warehouse Operative or Warehouse Trainer with exposure to training and coaching operatives. Ideally having worked within a busy warehouse/ logistics / distribution previously and knowledgeable in training, guiding and coaching staff within an inbound, picking, packing, value added services and outbound operation. Experience in an automated ecommerce, retail or wholesale environment is highly desirable.

Warehouse Team Leaders duties:

Deliver the safety training to new hires, conduct annual refresher training to existing operatives
Ensure all activities are carried out safely, in compliance with Risk Assessments and Safe Working Practices, act as a role model to others.
Identify any risks or hazards and eliminate where possible, escalate any risks or hazards that cannot be resolved. Ensure all Near Misses for the area are reported.
Train new starters on operational tasks required to complete their role
Coach, lead, motivate the operatives through role modelling and engaging Training
Ensure all processes are trained to the standard operating procedures (SOP)
Train operatives on the importance of accuracy, ensure they know the consequences for our customers of inaccurate processing
Ensure site equipment and training equipment is used appropriately, including HHT's, PC's, MHE, FLT and Company Property
Ensure operatives are trained to achieve a KPI appropriate to the task – understand the impact of not achieving area targets
Train operatives to ensure Customers are the focus, and that the operatives understand who their customer is
Feedback of KPI targets during Training, and use Reward and Recognition to motivate excellent performance, supporting with additional coaching where appropriate.
Maintain accurate training records and Skill Matrix update. Contribute to the site learning plan.
Proactively cross train operatives to ensure they have more than one core skill, increasing flexibility and job satisfaction. Must be confident in presenting.
Can create and update training materials where required
Contribute to Briefings ensuring teams are aware of their responsibility regarding SQCDP

Strong background and experience in training, motivating and coaching new starters on both one to one or group settings
Experience of training individuals or groups in a task or process. Confident in working with groups and presenting induction and pre-prepared training materials
Experience of working in a fast-paced environment either in warehousing, production or retail sectors
Strong operating knowledge of a Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Packages (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Confident in presenting training materials
Patient and compassionate
Good communication skills, able to communicate to a diverse and multi-skilled workforce
Good analytical background, able to understand data and accuracy
Committed to the achievement and maintenance of quality and best practice
