Our Client is a speciality supplier of raw materials and chemicals to the UK Manufacturing Industry. They are now seeking a Transport Planner. This position will be based in Lutterworth, Leicestershire and is a full-time permanent role.

Key Responsibilities

* Overall responsibility for investigating, charging and agreeing haulage related site, supplier and customer demurrage

* The control of all UK and European transport movements in a cost efficient and effective manner so that it contributes to site performance

* Overall responsibility for the planning of all transport for bulk / packed stock and direct customer movements

* Cost consideration when agreeing haulage partner for all product movements

* To ensure that customer service excellence is achieved through efficient control of haulage movements

* Measuring supplier OTIF and ensuring that we develop relationships and corrective actions where applicable to situations that arise

Qualifications and Experience

* GSCE's or equivalent

* Transport planning experience and a highly professional telephone manner are essential

* Experience in a fast-paced office environment, with a demonstrable aptitude for meeting a range of competing demands is essential

* Ability to use own initiative to manage all incoming and outgoing transport movements

* Ability to deliver high levels of service to internal and external customers

* Ability to organise and manage customer orders in a timely fashion to ensure OTIF is achieved

* Work as part of a team

* Prioritise and monitor own work

* Problem solve

* Communicate well with all interfaces and relationships
