Job Description

Lexcel accredited firm seeks a skilful Childcare Lawyers to join one of their offices either based in Northampton, Huntingdon and Shefford.

This is an opportune time for a talented solicitor, legal executive or barrister to join one of our client’s thriving practices based in Northampton, Huntingdon and Shefford (with the ability to travel to other offices as required). The successful applicant will advise on and conduct proceedings relating to the care and protection of children and young people. This role is offered on a full-time, Contract basis.

Responsibilities

Public law Children Act matters
Social care
Safeguarding
Care proceedings
Adoption
Public law outline matters (PLO)
Judicial review
Attending court and tribunals
Undertaking advocacy
Undertaking legal research
Liaising with clients and other witnesses

The Candidate

Solicitors, legal executives and barristers with a minimum of two years’ PQE
Flexibility is essential as you will be required to travel to other offices
Experience in childcare law is a must
Demonstrate an understanding of the local government legal framework
Previous advocacy experience
IT proficiency
