Job Description

BDS Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a large well known housing charity who are looking for an experienced Housing support workers to either support homeless people or youth offenders who are experiencing difficulties, based in Grantham, Nottingham.
Purpose of the job
To improve the lives of people using our services by providing direct housing related support services together with housing and property management to an individual or groups of individuals in conjunction with Senior Support Workers, Assistant Support Workers, the Team Manager and any appropriate external support agencies. You will be supporting with the aim of achieving successful move-on and other measurable outcomes. There will also be a requirement to work on your own in the community and/or service setting.
You will have experience of working with homeless people/ mental health issues or youth offenders, able to manage a large caseload and support adults and children through complex issues such as homelessness, substance abuse, employment and money issues.
You will be working with partner agencies such as social services, local council, police or health care providers. You will be processing referrals, carrying out assessments and providing Housing support to service users in their own homes including assisting with benefits, utilities, accessing services and rehousing.
We have 2 positions available;
* Homelessness Housing Support Worker -This position is initially a 3 month contract with possible extension or temp to perm.
* Youth Offenders Housing Support Worker – This is initially a trial period with a view of being temp to perm.
Successful candidates must have a current Enhanced DBS and a full UK Driving Licence.
Pay rate is £10.87 – £11.57 p.h PAYE plus holiday pay
Shifts will be in between 8am – 11pm on a 5 out of 7 day rota basis including weekends.
Both Part time and full time positions available;
* Homelessness Housing Support Worker -Full time only (35 hours)
* Youth Offenders Housing Support Worker – Either 40 or 17 hours available
