Job Description

GENERAL MANAGER – BIOSCIENCE – CRO – PERMANENT – LOUGHBOROUGH – £80-100K

A General Manager is required t0 join a growing Bioscience business and take overall leadership and strategic direction to the company's site-specific operation and for managing the site to profitability and operating income goals. As General Manager, you will account for all business activities, support staff development, enhance efficiency, drive revenue by working with the internal and business development partners, maintain positive relationships with clients as needed, enhance the organisation's image, and meet overall growth objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Overall P&L responsibility for the site.
Act as overall leader for the site to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Lead the planning, budgeting, profitability assurance, and cost monitoring of the site business.
Oversee daily operations of the organisation and report key results to executive management.
Ensure the creation and implementation of a strategy designed to grow the business and oversee Key Performance Indicators for each function.
Ensure the development of tactical programs to pursue targeted goals and objectives.
Evaluate site performance and productivity and course correct in a timely manner
Analyse financial metrics for the site to ensure appropriate fiscal management to goals.
Lead administration, maintenance, utilities, facilities and associated capital expenditure planning and execution.
Ensure that the site is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, environmental, health and safety regulations.
Ensure a culture of continuous improvement.
Build a leadership team to develop/execute operational excellence program and delivery of quality site offering to clients.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, inspection and compliance programs and statutes.
Instill culture of uncompromising and consistent setting and upholding of the highest standards.
Responsible for the development of staff, including performance management for direct reports and instilling this ethos throughout the site.
You must be able to be available to be on site in our Loughborough offices 5 days a week and when business requirements arise out of hours.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor degree required; Graduate degree and/or MBA preferred.
Significant experience, preferably life sciences, such as CRO or biopharmaceutical industry
Knowledge of and experience in policy compliance
Strong understanding of financial metrics and demonstrated ability to manage site operations to deliver to financial metrics.
Prior experience leading and managing teams is required.
Ability to effectively present information to all levels throughout the organisation as a leader and subject matter expert.
Experience in creating a strong positive culture at the site in partnership with HR and other cross-functional leaders.
Experience in managing direct reports to deliver strong performance.
