Job Description

Role; C# Developer (mainly backend)

Location; Derby

The internet has been the biggest thing to happen to humanity in a generation, maybe ever.

Perhaps if you discount COVID-19..

During lockdown, the internet has become more important than ever; not being able to go out has been pretty ok because you can do practically everything with your phone now, sweet.

Even companies that historically have reeled against this new-fangled technology have started to embrace it and have been reaping the rewards.

This company is no different. They have had to move very quickly to get set up for web-based operations being their mainstay. Now they have the foundations down, they need to improve on it, to be the slickest, most efficient company in their industry, and they need you.

If you want to sit and code within a business that has all its ducks in a row though, this definitely isn’t for you. They use Agile to the best of their ability and are currently in the process of maturing everything within the IT department to make sure it’s optimal. A work-in-progress you could say – so if you like that, keep on reading.

You’re a full stack developer that’s chosen C# and the Microsoft stack as your weapons of choice, and you’re always at the cutting edge with them (see what I did there?).

You’ve got a couple years or more of experience with C#, .Net (up to) Core, SQL Server, JavaScript/ Typescript, microservices (you’ll have at least read quite a bit around them), and REST APIs – this is an important one. You’ll be comfortable using SOLID principles, TDD, etc.

Most of the time, you’ll be mainly living in the backend, occasionally getting into some front end dev when needed, and doing quite a lot of integration work, using REST APIs to hook into 3rd party apps.

You’ll be encouraged to use the knowledge you’ve got from experience- both commercial, tinkering at home, and anything interesting you’ve read on blogs, forums, etc. – if you can improve something, say it and run with it!

You will not be a tiny cog in a massive machine, never being recognised, you’ll be at the front and centre of the company’s success- your work is important, and you’re needed.

They will give you training on anything you need to do your job well, plenty of holidays, working from home and flexible hours for your work/ life balance, and support from seniors so you are always improving yourself.

So if you are super interested in making IT and development functions uber-efficient and have aspirations of building and managing your own team(s) in future, apply now or give me a call to learn more about your new role
